Jazz Nights - Every 3rd Thursday of the month from June 16th
Come and enjoy an evening of great food, excellent wine and listen to the distinctive voice of our resident jazz singer, Mellow Harmony Baku.

Mellow Baku has performed jazz, reggae, soul, funk world and blues music with bands, ensembles, and solo for over 10 years. Her work covers a range of these influences, including Spoken Word. An accomplished performer and songwriter she has toured with Afro/Jazz/Dub band Soothsayers around UK/Europe, performed in New York with El Pussycat Ska, and supported saxophonist Courtney Pine.

Venues performed at: Southbank London, Jazz Café Camden, North Sea Jazz Festival Holland, Summer Sundae (x3) Leicester. Her music has received airplay on Radio 1 and Radio 2.

''Mellow's set to be performed at the Griffin includes everybody's favorite jazz standards,blues and latin songs; Fly Me to the Moon..Georgia On My Mind..Night and Day..A Nightingale Sang in Berkely Square..Cry Me a River..and many more from the Great American Song Book era as sang by great legends such as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald ,Cleo Laine, Julie London.

Also included are works by modern day songwriting masters; Lennon and McCartney,Bert Bacharach.''

She has featured regularly on BBC Radio Leicester, and works with many local artists including spoken word artist Sureshot, Hiphop producer Baby J, 2 Funky Arts, and international Dub poet Jean 'Binta' Breeze.

Mellow has just released her self penned debut album 'Patchwork Prophecies'.
